Major redesign: OneDrive client for Windows 11 leaked

The developers of the Redmond company Microsoft are planning to release a new OneDrive client for Windows 11 soon. A leaked preview build shows that the settings area has received an extensive redesign. However, there are no new features on board.

The new OneDrive client’s official Microsoft page appeared and can be installed on Windows 11 systems. Noisy Windows Latest design is adapted to the user interface of the Redmond operating system. Because the OneDrive folder itself can be opened via Explorer, the new program is primarily a configuration app with which you can, among other things, manage the available memory, change the synchronization settings, or link a new account.

New app with all previous features

The new Windows 11 app has an improved structure. While the different menu areas can be selected in a bar on the left, the options are presented on the right. Microsoft has not integrated any new features into the OneDrive client. Of course, Windows 11 users have the option to fall back on all the options that existed before. In addition, it is still possible to configure OneDrive via the settings of Windows 11.

Since the leaked build is only a preview version, the update should not be installed at this time. There is a possibility that the software will run unstable and data loss will occur. It is still unclear when a final version will be released. If you still want to see the new features, use a separate device for this. The latest build can be installed from the Dev Channel.
