Making entries in Google Calendar is now considerably easier

You can add an event, task, or out-of-office item to Google Calendar for Android (the last one is exclusive to Google Workspace accounts). You must click the + icon in the lower-right corner of the screen in order to add those entries. This will display the event, task, and out-of-office options. The program will provide a full-screen user interface with choices specific to that sort of entry as soon as you pick it. You must go back and choose again what you want if you need to change the type of input. Google is now tweaking this arrangement a little bit.

Google Calendar for Android, version 2024.07.0-608174112, reportedly displays the event, task, and out-of-office choices on the full-screen user interface (UI) as well. Thus, you can now click on the addition button and choose the desired input type from the full-screen user interface. By clicking on the + button in the new layout, you can modify the kind of entry after choosing one, which eliminates the need to go back.

It makes little sense for Google Calendar to display the Event, Task, and Out of Office options when you click on the + button now that the Fullscreen UI displays them, and the article speculates that Google may remove the pop-up menu that does so when you tap on the + icon. In December 2023, Google began testing this functionality in the app’s beta edition. It is now present in the app’s stable version.

The most recent feature, as 9To5Google noted, is a server-side modification. To enable the new layout, you must launch the app, force-stop it from the device settings, and then launch it once more. We used our Galaxy S23 to test this procedure, and it worked for us. It’s possible that Google will release the new feature gradually. Therefore, even if they have the most recent version of the app or follow the instructions to activate it, not everyone may be able to see it.
