March Security Update for Windows 11 is released

Microsoft released a security update for Windows 11 on March Patch Day. This update fixes some bugs and security issues and is available to all users who have already switched. The update for Windows 11 is the March patch, which is the regular security and maintenance update, which is distributed immediately. The update is already available via the Windows update function.

The update brings the build to the new version number 22000.556. The first initial release had the build number 2200.194. Microsoft has already listed the most important changes for the new version. The update is available to all users who have already installed Windows 11. However, Microsoft has not yet released many details about the changes in this update in the Knowledge Base. This is nothing out of the ordinary – information about the changes has been kept very brief on Patch Days for months. This security update contains quality improvements. The main changes are:

  • Addresses a known issue that occurs when you try to reset a Windows device whose applications have folders that contain repaired data, such as Microsoft OneDrive or Microsoft OneDrive for Business. If you select Delete all, files downloaded from Microsoft OneDrive or synced locally may not be deleted. On some devices, it may take up to seven (7) days after installing this update for the issue to be fully resolved and files gone after a reset. For immediate effect, you can manually activate the Windows Update troubleshooter using the instructions in the Windows Update troubleshooter.

Windows 11 Servicing Stack Update – 22000.469

  • This update makes quality improvements to the servicing stack, the component that installs Windows updates. Servicing Stack Updates (SSU) ensure that you have a stable and reliable service stack so that your devices can receive and install Microsoft updates.
