Marvel Snap is now live again in the US

Marvel Snap Returns Online in the U.S. After ByteDance Shutdown

Marvel Snap is now back online in the U.S., following its temporary shutdown alongside TikTok, developer Second Dinner has announced. The company also shared on X that it is partnering with a new publisher and working to bring more services in-house to “make sure this never happens again.”

The disruption occurred this past weekend when Marvel Snap, along with other ByteDance-affiliated apps such as CapCut, Lemon8, and TikTok, went offline. Marvel Snap, a collectible card game for Android, iOS, and Windows, was previously published by Nuverse, a subsidiary of ByteDance.

Although the game is back online in the U.S., it remains unavailable for download on Google Play and the App Store as of now. Second Dinner addressed this on X, stating they are still working on restoring the app to those platforms, which “may take some time.” The developer is also addressing in-app purchasing errors that players with existing installations have been experiencing. For now, players can buy credits, boosters, passes, and packages through the Marvel Snap web shop while the issues are being resolved.

TikTok was the first ByteDance app to return online, resuming service in the U.S. within less than a day. ByteDance announced the restoration was done “in agreement with [its] service providers.” However, other apps like CapCut and Lemon8 remain inaccessible at the time of writing.

This marks a turning point for Marvel Snap, as Second Dinner aims to ensure greater stability by taking charge of more services internally and partnering with a new publisher. Stay tuned for further updates.
