McDonald’s French fries can cure baldness

The famous fries of McDonald’s maybe a craving for many but now research has proven them to be extremely beneficial for health.

As per a report by the New York Post a Japanese stem cell research team have found that using an ingredient in McDonald’s French fries can cure baldness.

Yokohama National University scientists discovered that a silicone used in McDonald’s fry oil called dimethylpolysiloxane can help in production of hair follicles on mice.

As per the study, the “simple method” has been quite successful in developing “hair follicle germs” (HFG). They are the cells that help in growth of hair follicles

The use of dimethylpolysiloxane has done wonders & the research team gave credit to it for this extraordinary discovery that has lead to the creation of thousands of immediate hair follicle germs.

Professor Junji Fukuda said in the study, “The key for the mass production of HFGs was a choice of substrate materials for the culture vessel. We used oxygen-permeable dimethylpolysiloxane (PDMS) at the bottom of the culture vessel, and it worked very well.”

New black hair emerged in the areas where HGFs were “transplanted into the backs of the mice”.

Fukuda said, “This simple method is very robust and promising. We hope this technique will improve human hair regenerative therapy to treat hair loss such as androgenic alopecia. In fact, we have preliminary data that suggests human HFG formation using human keratinocytes and dermal papilla cells.”

Now before we get excited & feel that McDonald’s fries would be able to grow our hair, hold that thought for a second. The experiment has been done on mice, not humans. It isn’t necessary that it will work same way on humans, or to be completely honest it will ever see the light of the day. It is an exceptional discovery, but one can’t rely on it to grow hair. So you can continue using wigs or transplants or anything that you do, till more positive update is seen regarding this discovery.
