Media Tap to Transfer feature might enhance casting on the Pixel Tablet

The Media Tap to Transfer casting ability could be useful for Google Pixel Tablet users. This feature was just discovered by Assemble Debug and made public by Mishaal Rahman through Twitter. Mishaal Rahman tweets that this function is under development and will make media casting easier.

Users of the Google Pixel Tablet will be able to cast media from their device with only a tap thanks to this capability. The Ultra-Wideband (UWB) processor on the tablet will be used for this, so users will need to stand in front of the device for the feature to work. Therefore, the tablet will recognize that the user may want to cast material onto the bigger screen by stepping in front of it.

The Ultra-Wideband (UWB) chip on the tablet will enable the Media Tap to Transfer casting capability once it detects the user’s presence. By just hitting the cast button, users may now cast their whole screen from their iPhone to the tablet. However, Android 13 already has the icon that represents this feature, so it might eventually become an exclusive feature.
