MediaTek Announces Helio G95 A Gaming SoC

The chip manufacturer MediaTek has expanded its own portfolio and donated a new member to the G series. The Helio G95 is a mobile processor that should mainly be used in gaming smartphones. The chip should be delivered soon. Qualcomm has also announced a new midrange SoC  Snapdragon 732G aimed at midrange high-end gaming smartphones.

The system on a chip (SoC) has a total of eight cores. While two cores are Cortex-A75 CPUs that clock at up to 2.05 gigahertz, the remaining six Cortex-A55 CPUs are operated with less energy. The CPU is supported by a Mali-G76 MC4-GPU. The graphics unit runs at a speed of up to 900 megahertz.

Performance increased by 5%

Compared to the previous model, the MediaTek Helio G90T, the new SoC should bring a five percent higher CPU performance with it. The performance of the GPU was even increased by eight percent. This is evident from the results of AnTuTu Benchmark and GFXBench. The processor supports an advanced version of MediaTek’s HyperEngine gaming technology. The aim is to coordinate the CPU, the GPU, and the available RAM in such a way that optimal results can be achieved when playing games. The chip is equipped with support for HDR10 +.

In addition, the Helio G95 has a feature called “AI Super Resolution Display”. This can reduce network traffic for live streams by up to 75 percent without having to accept major compromises in quality. In addition to FHD + displays with a frame rate of up to 90 Hertz, cameras that record images with a maximum of 64 megapixels are also supported.

The first smartphones should appear in September

Now that the chip has been officially announced, the first smartphones that use the CPU will soon be available. According to MediaTek, the first devices with an Helio G95 will be shipped in September. However, it is still unclear which manufacturers the smartphones are produced by and which exact models are involved.
