MediaTek to launch Dimensity 9200 by next week
MediaTek has decided to launch its flagship Dimensity processor. It will be launched at an event in China by 2023. The new Dimensity 9200 processor is rumored for a long. According to some news sources, the chip firm from Taiwan will take the wraps off its Dimensity 9200 processor on November 8, 2022. Last week the performance scores of Dimensity 9200 by AnTuTu benchmark surfaced on the internet.
The MediaTek Dimensity 9200 gained 1.26 million points. The new Dimensity chip has a few minor updates. But the score gained is massive. It is said that Dimensity 9200 is based on ARM’s new Mali-G715 Immortalis GPU. In comparison, Dimensity 9000+ consists of Mali-G710 GPU. The performance score for Dimensity 9000+ was recorded as 550,000.
Furthermore, the benchmark scores for Mali-G715 MC11 GPU were revealed by the IceUniverse. According to IceUniverse in the Manhattan ES 3.0 1080p offscreen test, it scored around 328fps. Whereas it gained a score of 228fps for the Manhattan ES 3.1 1080p benchmark test. However, the performance of Dimensity 9200 is average as compared to Snapdragon 8 Gen 2 processor. The latter is going to be an essential part of most of the android smartphones coming in 2023. Yet another intriguing fact about Dimensity 9200 is that it has the capacity to beat the GPU performance of the Apple A16 Bionic.
According to some rumors, the MediaTek Dimensity 9200 will be based on a triple-cluster CPU structural design. It will feature as:
- one ARM Cortex-X3 CPU core clocked at 3.05GHz
- three Cortex-A715 CPU cores clocked at 2.85GHz
- four Cortex-A510 CPU cores clocked at 2.0GHz
MediaTek is holding its event a week prior to Qualcomm’s event. The next-gen flagship processor by Qualcomm is reported to launch between November 15-17 at the Snapdragon Summit.
Though Samsung won’t be utilizing the Dimensity 9200 processor in any of its flagship smartphones. But for sure Dimensity 9200 will power smartphones of other brands that are available at lower prices compared to Samsung.
