Just a few days ago, we learned that the famous messaging platform WhatsApp is experimenting with two new features, including status sharing to Instagram and an improved screen sharing experience. The two features are currently being tested with beta testers. In addition to this, the company has added several new features to Channels as well. According to some recent pieces of information, the messaging app is now working on introducing the message-forwarding feature to Channels.
According to WABetaInfo’s report, the new feature was spotted in Android beta v2.23.26.2. To put it simply, WhatsApp users may soon be able to forward messages from other conversations to the Channels they have joined. Sending text messages, photos, GIFs, videos, audio messages, stickers, and more is included in this.
The new feature is currently under testing and is accessible to a few beta testers. Although the feature will take some time before arriving in the stable version of the app, the function of the new feature is quite obvious. WABetaInfo even shared a screenshot that explains how the feature will work. Using the new feature, users can conveniently forward messages from group or individual chats to Channels.
Interestingly, the forwarded message can also be edited before forwarding it to Channels in a separate chat window. The feature has its own pros and cons. It can be equally utilized for spreading positive or negative information across Channels. Considering that the functionality is still in the experimental stage, WhatsApp may soon add it to the Android app’s stable version.
