There is another exciting insight into all the innovations planned for Microsoft 365. According to the company’s roadmap, a series of updates for Lists and Teams as well as general improvements will be launched next month.
In the new look at the Microsoft 365 Roadmap It is noticeable that Microsoft has taken on the SharePoint list app and is now introducing numerous new functions and changes to the options – basically, Microsoft Lists is now getting a thorough overhaul. These changes for the Lists app are particularly interesting because Microsoft only released the application for private users a few months ago – so everyone should soon be able to benefit from the new features.
In September, a new notification feature will be introduced in the Lists app. This will allow users of list forms to be notified of new responses. By default, this feature is disabled, but can be enabled by all users of a specific list. Once enabled, users will receive an email notification for each new response, making it much easier to monitor and manage all form data. The feature is based on user feedback.
Also in September, a scheduling feature will be added that will allow both list form owners and contributors to set specific start and end times for accepting responses. This feature will ensure that forms are only active during a set period of time and will automatically stop accepting responses once the scheduled end time is reached.
Starting in November, users will be able to add attachment fields to their list forms. This new feature allows files to be uploaded directly to the form, providing additional context or necessary documentation. This is particularly useful for capturing detailed information and providing supporting documents. Also in November, a branching feature will be added to list forms.
This feature will allow users to create dynamic forms that adapt to their data collection needs. By applying conditions based on previous answers, relevant questions can be displayed, resulting in smarter and more efficient forms.
Another highlight is the introduction of the Intelligent Recap feature in Microsoft Teams for Government Community Cloud High (GCC-H) customers in September – so this will only be rolled out to users on a very limited basis.
This feature provides an intelligent summary of meetings and conversations, which makes follow-up and organizing information much easier. However, this should then gradually be released to other user groups.
