Microsoft Brings Indiana Jones to Switch 2, Unveils New DLC at Gamescom 2025

At the opening event of Gamescom 2025, Microsoft made unexpected headlines. The company presented the first title that it will bring for Switch 2. And also gameplay material for the new Indiana Jones expansion.

Deep under Rome

With “The Order of Giants”, gamers can soon look forward to more fun with “Indiana Jones and the Great Circle”. The new expansion leads players even deeper into the secrets of the mysterious Nephilim orders, which already plays a role in the main game. The starting point in history is the young priest Father Ricci, who is looking for the help of Indiana Jones to track down an enigmatic artifact.

From this, an independent act relaxes that leads the players from the streets of Rome down into the catacombs of the eternal city. The opponents include a secret cult, the Mithras supporter. According to Bethesda, players will not only explore new locations such as the Tiber during the DLC missions, but also accompany them by a specially composed soundtrack. The events of the additional content are embedded in the action of the main game and therefore do not constitute a continuation in the classic sense. Rather, The Order of Giants extends the existing story with additional perspectives and challenges. The expansion will appear on September 4, 2025 for PC, Xbox Series X | S and PlayStation 5. Owner of the Premium Edition, the Collector’s Edition and corresponding upgrade packages receive the DLC at no additional costs.

For the first time on Nintendo

However, Microsoft’s second announcement attracted even greater attention: for the first time, an in-house blockbuster title will also officially appear for a Nintendo console. Indiana Jones and the Great Circle is to be released on Switch 2 in 2026. Microsoft is taking a step that many fans would have expected from Call of Duty – this title has so far been missing in the line -up for the new Nintendo hardware, although older consoles such as Xbox One and PlayStation 4 are still supported.

Although no exact date for the Switch 2 version has been mentioned, the decision is considered a remarkable step towards the platform opening. For Microsoft, she marks a premiere – and for Nintendo players the view of a real adventure with Dr. Jones.
