Microsoft Confirms No Problems In Windows 10 Update Insider Program

Microsoft has released another update for Windows Insider. It’s just a test of the delivery process – but that’s interesting because this test went terribly wrong a week ago.

The Windows team then had to stop and withdraw the Windows 10 update. An error had crept into the cumulative update KB4581021 that prevented the installation. However, since Microsoft wanted to optimize this delivery process for the updates, it was a debacle. The insiders tried to install the update and could only report through the insider feedback that an update was not possible. But even before the attempt at the beginning of October, there were problems updating the builds for Windows Insider.

No subsequent problems

Fortunately, there were no major problems with the update. The bug did not affect the insider tests any further. In other attempts at similar tests, Microsoft had sent users into endless boot loops or caused constant crashes with the infamous blue or green screen of death.

Now Windows manager Brandon LeBlanc reports another attempt for the cumulative update. In the blog post for the Insider Program, he writes: “We’re starting with the roll-out of cumulative update build 20231.1005 (KB4586238). You may not see this update right away, but it will ship by tonight. This update is nothing new and is intended to test our service pipeline. We have identified and fixed the bug that prevented the previous cumulative updates from being installed, as reported by Windows Insiders last month. “

Went well

So far it has been quiet in the relevant forums – the update now seems to have gone through well. In our test it could be installed and increased the build number to 20231.1005. However, no changes can actually be seen.
