Microsoft Edge is Now the Best Performing Browser on Windows 10

Microsoft has been adding new features to Edge for quite some time to improve performance and launch times. These new features have turned that table in Microsoft’s favor, claiming itself to be the “best performing browser on Windows 10,” even better than Google.

In a recent blog post, Microsoft Edge states:

Microsoft Edge will be the best performing browser on Windows 10 when Microsoft Edge version 91 releases later this week,

So, why can we say this? It’s simple: startup boost and sleeping tabs.

According to a source, the company started rolling out its new startup boost feature in Edge back in March, claiming it makes browser launches up to 41% faster. Then the new sleeping tabs are to improve browser performance.

We also learned that Microsoft Edge now automatically releases system resources for inactive tabs, helping new tabs run better or stop the browser from hogging memory and CPU resources in the background.

The company is also working on a separate performance mode for its browser that’s currently in testing.
