Microsoft has released the December 2023 security update for Windows

Microsoft is currently rolling out the last patch of Windows for the year. The latest December patch follows another patch that was released at the start of this month. This latest release fixes 34 flaws along with a zero-day AMD CPU vulnerability.

Microsoft addressed AMD CPU issues that were left out by AMD

Along with all of that, this update will also cover “division-by-zero” issues that are a concern for AMD CPUs. In August, a zero-day vulnerability was discovered at first, but there were no fixes provided by AMD. According to Bleeping Computers, this issue was labeled as a low threat, along with the recommendation that software development follow-up be done.

Although there is no need for Galaxy Book users to worry about this zero-day vulnerability issue, as Samsung Windows laptops are powered by Intel CPUs other than AMD’s,. Among other issues patched for the Microsoft December 2023 release, three out of eight remote code execution flaws were rated as critical. Along with that, only one of the spoofing vulnerability issues that was affecting Power Platform was marked as critical.
