Microsoft Introduces All-in-One App for Word, Excel and PowerPoint

Microsoft has officially launched it’s first consolidated Office app for Android users.

Earlier, the app was made available for the Office Insiders only. The preview period began in November, where just a small groups of users were provided access to the application. Nearly 3 months later, the application is now available for free on the Play Store.

Besides allowing one to read and edit the documents, this new app by Microsoft allows one to take down notes that could be synced with the Windows 10 Sticky Notes application, read and signs PDFs, scan the text from images, transfer files to the closer in proximity devices and computers and scam images using one’s smartphone camera. Hence, the users would no more be needing any 3rd party scanning or notepad apps.

It could not be said with clarity that whether Microsoft intends to replace the present dedicated Word, Excel and PowerPoint apps on Android or if this consolidated app would exist side by side with the earlier launched apps.

Besides this, there is no news whether the app would be launching for iOS users in the near future. Furthermore, the application does not work properly on tablets at the moment. Microsoft still needs to comment on it.
