Microsoft is planning remasters for Oblivion Fallout 3, and the new Doom according to the leak

There is currently a leak festival at Microsoft because a lot of information that is not intended for the public has been leaked from the Redmond company’s games business. There is various news about hardware, but also about games.

Activision Blizzard process led to the leak

Over the past few months, Microsoft and Xbox executives have tried, and succeeded, to persuade a US court to approve the takeover of Activision Blizzard. In mid-July, Judge Jacqueline Scott Corley ruled that there was nothing decisive against this deal. In the course of the negotiations now, the Redmond company has also secured numerous internal details.

These have recently been processed and have already revealed various information about the hardware plans of Microsoft’s Xbox and gaming division. But there are also a lot of interesting things to learn about games themselves because they were of course an important part of the takeover process, which the US Federal Trade Commission (FTC) objected to.

Some of the titles on the leaked list are already known, including the Indiana Jones project from Machine Games as well as the already published games Deathloop and the current Starfield. But there are also games that were previously not known in this form. These include remastered versions of Fallout 3 and The Elder Scrolls 4: Oblivion. These revised editions were originally planned for next year; to be precise, Microsoft mentions the internal fiscal year here.

Doom Year Zero plus DLC, Ghostwire: Tokyo 2, and Dishonored 3 were also planned for the 2024 financial year. Finally, there were Project Kestrel, Project Platinum, and a licensed game for a well-known IP, i.e. brand. We are deliberately writing in the past here because these leaks are information that is several years old – specifically, they come from a presentation from July 2020.
