Microsoft Kills Windows 10 32-bit Versions Slowley

Microsoft has started to layoff Windows for 32-bit systems – at least in the client area. As of now, PC manufacturers will no longer receive the corresponding versions of the operating system for pre-installation because Microsoft now stops windows 32-bit versions

According to Neowin from the minimum hardware requirements for Windows 10 version in 2004 stating Microsoft offers starting with the now completed the latest edition of Windows 10 no 32-bit versions more for the pre-installation by the PC manufacturers. Windows 10 version 2004, also known as May 2020 update, has recently become available for PC OEMs.

The end is coming, but slowly

As of now, PC manufacturers can no longer equip new computers with the 32-bit versions of Windows 10. Of course, this applies with some restrictions, since there are probably still some cases in niche areas where Microsoft offers corresponding solutions around its platform. However, the availability of current chips with exclusive support for 32-bit operating systems is extremely limited anyway.

So there are practically no more or less current processors for x86-based PCs that function as pure 32-bit platforms. Instead, practically all platforms remaining in the market already support 64-bit operating systems. In addition, existing PCs will continue to be supplied with 32-bit versions of Windows 10 for the foreseeable future – so if you use a corresponding edition, you don’t have to expect a sudden end of support.

In addition, with Windows 10 version 2004, the availability of installation media and retail variants of the 32-bit version of Microsoft’s operating system remains. Nevertheless, the end of the delivery of Windows 10 32-bit to the manufacturers of finished PC systems is now important, after the entire slow and largely valid farewell begins.
