Microsoft Lifts Safeguard Block for Windows 11 24H2 on Asus PCs

Now, Microsoft has confirmed that another issue has been addressed. Back in October, some Asus PCs faced a blue screen of death (BSOD) error when attempting to upgrade to Windows 11 24H2. This led Microsoft to place a safeguard block on these systems.
Although the block is still technically active, Microsoft has assured users that it will be gradually lifted as the fix rolls out. However, the company has yet to clarify the specific cause of the issue.
For affected Asus models, specifically the X415KA and X515KA laptops, the solution comes in the form of a BIOS update. Thankfully, users won’t need to manually perform the update. Instead, the necessary firmware update is being delivered via the Windows Update channel, simplifying the process.

The issue has been resolved through a BIOS update provided by ASUS. Devices using ASUS models X415KA and X515KA with a BIOS version lower than 311 need to install the latest BIOS update to remove the safeguard block and upgrade to Windows 11, version 24H2. This BIOS update is categorized as a Critical Update (CU) and is available through Windows Update.
While the safeguard remains in place for now, it will be gradually lifted as more devices receive the update. Users are encouraged to check for updates under Settings > Windows Update and install all available updates to ensure compatibility with Windows 11 24H2.
