Microsoft tests a new calendar app as a supplement to the so-called Microsoft 365 Companion apps. This trio of mini apps is currently only available for corporate customers who participate in the insider test.
That has Microsoft now announced. In addition to the already introduced apps for passenger and file searches, the calendar app offers direct access to the most important calendar functions- and all of this via the Windows 11 tasting bar. Many users know the problem: You have to look at the calendar dozens of times a day to keep an overview of a full schedule. However, this constant switching between applications can slow down productivity. The mini apps should now help.
The calendar accompanying app enables users to view your Microsoft 365 calendar directly from the Windows Taskeben, which eliminates the change between apps and the context is preserved. Users can display upcoming events, participate in meetings and search for appointments to keep an overview of their schedule. Particularly practical: the app can be attached to the taskbar so that it is always at hand. To do this, simply click on the app symbol with the right mouse button and select “attach to Taskbaren”.
We wanted to offer a quick and lightweight ‘handy -ready’ calendar experience in order to minimize interruptions and to keep them in their work flow for longer. Announcement of Microsoft
Integration into the existing Microsoft 365 ecosystem is another advantage. The app seamlessly synchronizes with the Outlook calendar.
The calendar app is available for currently only for Windows 11 users who have installed Microsoft 365 desktop apps, are part of the M365 insider program (only beta-channel) and either use enterprise or business licenses. However, Microsoft plans to make the app more widely available in the future.
