In the past few weeks we have reported again and again about update problems and the infamous blue screen of death in Windows 10; two bugs that appeared after the patch day updates. Microsoft has now confirmed that the problems are being investigated.
One of the biggest problems is that the updates could not be installed at all. There were also numerous reports of an error in the user profile that creates a temporary profile and takes over instead of the user profile – with the result that data can no longer be accessed and desktop shortcuts are missing. Other users reported a sporadic blue screen of death (BSOD) crashes and frame rate errors. Recently we heard about an audio bug.
In the past weeks there has been the same problem reports from users with the latest Windows 10 versions 1903 and 1909, i.e. the May and November 2019 updates. What was missing so far, however, was feedback from Microsoft that the problems described were actually bugs that are related to the updates. Now the Windows team has finally responded and published a corresponding note.
Microsoft wants more data to track down the problems. It is not yet known which problems are being tackled.
