Microsoft is finally removing Internet Explorer starting from its latest operating system, Windows 11. According to the company itself, Internet Explorer will be “disabled” in Windows 11.
Talking to The Verge, Microsoft said:
The Internet Explorer 11 desktop application will not be available on Windows 11. Microsoft Edge is the default browser for Windows 11,
The MSHTML engine exists as part of the Windows 11 operating system to power IE mode in Microsoft Edge.
Earlier, Microsoft said that the Long-Term Servicing Channel (LTSC) of Windows 10 would still have Internet Explorer, but now Windows 11 will fully remove the browser.
That would be the first time in nearly 23 years for Microsoft to release a new version of Windows without its Internet Explorer.
