Motorola and Xiaomi to be the First Ones Using Qualcomm Snapdragon 898

Qualcomm Snapdragon 898 SoC is the latest chipset from the company. No smartphone maker has yet used the chipset. But we heard from GSMArena that Xiaomi and Motorola would be the first to use this chipset.

Motorola’s smartphone that will use the Snapdragon 898 is likely to come by the end of the current year. On the other hand, Xiaomi’s smartphone using the same SoC is also likely to come later this year. The phone using this SoC is the Xiaomi 12.

The Snapdragon 898 hasn’t yet reached shelves. The company is most likely to release it at the beginning of December 2021. This SoC is about 15% more expensive than the Snapdragon 888, so you may expect this to boost up the device’s price. But it certainly will boost the device’s performance and so you will get a better-performing smartphone using the Snapdragon 898.

In other news, we also head Xiaomi’s sub-brand Redmi will also use the same SoC for its Redmi K50 Pro+.
