Motorola Moto Edge X30 is the First to Come with Snapdragon 8 Gen 1

Now that Qualcomm has officially announced the new Snapdragon 8 Gen 1, we can now start seeing a series of new devices carrying this SoC. The first one we’ll get is the Moto Edge X30.

Snapdragon 8 Gen 1 is the latest chipset from Qualcomm, announced on November 30th. The chip carries model number SM8450 and supersedes the Snapdragon 888. Right after its announcement, several smartphone makers have announced to use this chipset in their next line of smartphones, which includes Xiaomi, Realme, OPPO, iQOO, and OnePlus. Motorola is also one of these and will be the first one to announce the Edge X30 with this chip.

The Moto Edge X30

Motorola’s Moto Edge X30 will feature a 6.67-inch FHD+ OLED display with a 144Hz refresh rate, a punch-hole cutout, and an in-screen fingerprint scanner for security. The punch-hole is likely to feature a 60MP front camera. The rear side is likely to feature a triple-camera setup with a 50MP (main), 50MP (secondary), and 2MP sensors.

The device will be available in four variants with 6GB, 8GB, 12GB, and 16GB RAMs. The internal storage for the device would go as high as 512GB.

Motorola will also equip this smartphone with a powerful 5000mAh battery with 68W fast charging support. The device will run the latest version of My UX 3.0.

The company will officially announce the device at 7:30 PM on Dec. 9 in China.
