Nanoleaf unveils a new light trip for PC monitors

Nanoleaf extends its smart home portfolio with the PC screen Mirror LightStrip. The USB-powered bias lighting for monitors reflects screen contents in real time and promises an immersive gaming experience-without additional hardware or complicated installation.
Smart lighting for gamers
Nanoleaf is expanding its portfolio with a new bias lighting for PC monitors. The “PC Screen Mirror LightStrip” connects directly to the computer via USB-C and reflects the screen contents with colored LED lighting on the wall. In contrast to competing products such as Philips Ambilight or Corsair Icue, Nanoleaf completely dispenses with external cameras or additional control units.
The 2.5 meter long LED strip is designed for monitors up to 32 inches (81.28 cm) and can be attached to the back of the screen by a zigzag design. A 1.5 meter long connection cable enables a comparatively flexible positioning. The strip can be shortened if necessary without affecting the functionality – as with many LED light strips.

The most important technical specifications:
- LED number: 75 LEDs
- Color spectrum: 16 million colors
- Maximum brightness: 200 lumens
- Cable length: 1.5 meters of connection cable
Software and range of functions
The control takes place via the Nanoleaf Desktop app for Windows and MacOS. The software analyzes the frame buffer in real time and generates suitable lighting effects. The reaction speed of the LEDs can be individually adjusted to minimize delays.
A physical switch on the cable also enables direct switching on and off without software interaction. In addition to the screen mirroring, the LED strip also offers music visualization through “Direct PC Audio Capture”. A premium subscription is required for extended audio functions such as orchestrator mode, which assigns different frequency ranges of different LED zones:
- Monthly subscription: $1.99 (about 1.82 euros)
- Annual subscription: $19.99 (around 18.30 euros)
The Nanoleaf PC screen Mirror LightStrip itself is sold for 39.99 euros and can now be pre -ordered. Delivery should take place by April 30, 2025 at the latest. How do you feel about this type of ambience lighting? Feel free to share your experiences with similar systems in the comments. Would you consider a premium subscription for the extended audio features?
