New Windows 10 20H2 Preview Appears In Dev Channel With New Start Menu

Microsoft has released a new preview for the Windows 10 update for the developer channel planned for the autumn in the Insider program. The update fixes some known bugs and starts the release of innovations for other users.

The new build is number 20180 and was published on the Dev Channel. The development team has primarily fixed bugs, among other things, problems with the new control option Alt + Tab for edge tabs are addressed. But now there are also new features that Microsoft has activated and already distributed to first users. These include, for example, the topic-related tiles in the start menu. Important for Windows Insiders who still use an older version: The Insider Preview Builds 20161 and below expire on July 31 and should, therefore, be updated in good time.

Updates for developers

The Windows SDK is now continuously updated with the dev channel again. As soon as a new operating system build is published in the Dev channel, the corresponding SDK follows.

This new version also has a long list of known bugs. This includes an issue where some Microsoft Store games protected with Easy Anti-Cheat may not start. Other users continue to report that the update process does not work correctly when they try to install a new build. The team is also working on a fix for an issue where the Min / Max / Close buttons will remain in their original position after resizing a UWP application and then become unusable.
