Apple apparently plans to launch a new version of its streaming box Apple TV at the end of this year. Various insiders and analysts expect a number of technical innovations, more performance and possibly also a price reduction.

It combines WLAN and Bluetooth functions and supports the new standard Wi-Fi 7. However, the speed continues to depend heavily on the Internet connection. The chip also brings support for Bluetooth 6, which promises lower delays – an advantage, for example, with gaming.

There should also be a clear upgrade in the processor: Instead of the previous A15 Bionic, the Apple TV should in future be equipped with the A17 Pro. This chip is already known from the iPhone 15-Pro ​​models and enables, among other things, the use of Apple Intelligence, the manufacturer’s new AI platform. This may look forward to faster operation, extended Siri functions and more fluid multitasking overall. In addition, the RAM should grow to 8 GB.

Another rumor affects an integrated camera. Although TVOS has been offering a FaceTime app for some time, but so far the coupling with iPhone or iPad has been necessary. With a built -in camera, video calls could be guided directly over the television in the future. Of course, it depends on where the streaming box was set up.
