Nio, a Chinese EV manufacturer, releases its own smartphone

More and more Android phones are entering the smartphone market these days. We already know that there are several companies that were previously not associated with manufacturing smartphones, but now they are doing so. The same is the case with the Chinese EV manufacturer Nio. In an effort to complement its electric vehicles, Nio will soon debut an Android smartphone. Notably, the company revealed the new smartphone at the Technology Day held in Shanghai. The business hopes to gain at least 50% of the market among Nio car owners.

Specifications of Nio smartphone

The display of the Nio smartphone measures 6.81 inches. It is a 2K OLED display with a refresh rate of 120Hz. It is powered by the Snapdragon 8 Gen 2 processor. It accompanies a 5,200mAh battery with support for 66W wired charging, 50W wireless charging, and even 10W wireless reverse charging. On the back, the smartphone features a triple camera setup, including a 50Mp primary camera with OIS, a 50MP ultra-wide-angle lens, and a 50MP periscope telephoto lens.

The unique element of the Nio Phone

In contrast to high-end flagships like the Galaxy S23 Ultra, the features and specs of Nio’s smartphone are modest. The unique element here is its incorporation with the company’s EV ecosystem. The phone runs SkyUI. It features a button that helps users to remotely access cars since the button doubles as a car key.

In addition to this, the smartphone is capable of controlling several car functions. Moreover, the “Sky Window” feature allows users to manage smartphone apps on the display in their car, including video conferencing and gaming.

The ability to connect users is more practical. Additionally, it is more effective than previously. We are aiming to give our users the best possible automobile experience. CEO William Li stated, “I think a significant part of customers are highly likely to use this new form [of gadget] when they change their phones.

Do note that the phone won’t be available in Europe. It will be available in a price range of $900 to $1,000. Users can now pre-order the smartphone and shipping will begin from September 28th.
