Nokia X20 to Ditch the Plastic Wall Charger from the Box

HMD Global recently introduced a handful of budget phones, including the Nokia X series. We already knew a bit about the Nokia X20 but we never thought the company would roll out the device without a charger.

According to XDA, the product page for the device mentioned it that this new device won’t come with a charger”

“There’s no plastic wall charger included, and with the 100% compostable case, we’ve reduced the ecological impact of Nokia X20,”

Though this could be new information for Nokia users, it isn’t for all. Recently, Apple also said something like this when it said that the iPhone 12 series wouldn’t include headphones or a wall charger in the box.

As said in the statement above, these measures are taken to cut back on e-waste, which is a good sign that giants like Apple and Nokia are making such moves for the environment. But how do we charge our devices? We would have to buy these accessories from a third party or use the old ones we already have.

This device is valued at $415 but without a plastic wall charger, which we could easily buy from the store.

I think this is a good move. But I also believe that these companies should think of ways where we don’t have to charge our phones with these non-environment-friendly chargers at all.

Anyhow, we’ll leave this with the company and quickly review the Nokia X20. This smartphone is coming with a 6.67″ Full HD+ display, up to 8GB of RAM, 128GB of storage, 4,470mAh battery, and a quad-camera setup, including a 64MP primary camera with ZEISS optics.

If you didn’t catch the Nokia X20 announcement, the device comes equipped with a 6.67-inch Full HD+ display, up to 8GB of RAM, 128GB of storage, 4470mAh battery, and a quad-camera setup, including a 64MP primary camera with ZEISS optics. The device is set to launch, sans wall charger, next month.
