Nothing Phone (2a) recorded sale of 100,000 units on the first day alone
Last week, Nothing debuted its Nothing Phone (2a). CEO Carl Pei disclosed that the company sold an astounding 100,000 units on its first day of sales (March 12), with 60,000 of those devices selling in only the first hour. It features the signature Glyph design on the back.
The new smartphone is an affordable option as compared to the Phone (2). Given the fact that it is a mid-range phone, there is a compromise on specs. It features some of the specs of the Phone (2) like a dual 50MP back camera setup and a large 6.7-inch OLED display.
The specially designed Dimensity 7200 Pro processor from Nothing is one intriguing feature. With the same 4nm manufacturing process as the conventional Dimensity 7200 or 7200 Ultra, real-world performance is probably going to be comparable, despite the company’s claims that it offers 10% higher efficiency.
Features of Nothing Phone (2a)
The Nothing Phone (2a) features a 6.7-inch OLED display with FHD+ resolution. Other display features include 1,300 nits of peak brightness, HDR10 support, and a refresh rate of 120Hz. It features a 32MP selfie camera and a dual 50MP camera setup on the back which includes the 50MP main with OIS and the 50MP ultra-wide-angle.
It is powered by the MediaTek Dimensity 7200 Pro chip paired with 12Gb RAM and 256GB of storage. It packs a 5,000mAh battery with support for 45W fast charging. On the software end, it runs on Nothing OS 2.5 based on Android 14. It is eligible for three years of OS updates and 4 years of security updates. It is available in black and white color options.
In Continental Europe, the device costs €329; in the UK, it costs £319; and in India, it costs ₹23,999. The phone is presently available for $349 to US residents under a developer program; wider distribution is anticipated shortly.
