On March 15, Samsung Electronics will host its 54th annual general meeting

On February 14, Samsung disclosed that the company’s 54th annual general meeting of shareholders will take place on March 15 of 2023. The Suwon Convention Center in Gyeonggi-do, South Korea, will host the general assembly. The financial statement and Jong-Hee Han’s appointment as an inside director will be considered at the meeting. Additionally, the approval of the cap on director compensation will be discussed during the meeting.

Samsung Electronics also made an electronic voting method available to its shareholders. It was introduced back in 2020. It permits them to exercise their voting rights without being present in person at the meeting. Between March 5 and March 14, from 9:00 AM to 5:00 PM, shareholders can cast an electronic ballot. Shareholders of Samsung Electronics may vote on any item on the general meeting’s agenda by selecting the appropriate voting button.

Additionally, the Korea Securities Depository’s electronic voting system now offers shareholders the convenience of 24-hour electronic voting as of 2020. Samsung has also taken steps to use less paper. In this perspective, the company has substituted electronic public disclosure system notifications for shareholder mailings (DART). In this way, Samsung will be able to save up to 35 million sheets of paper thanks to this.

Since 2021, Samsung has also streamed the annual general meeting online for the shareholders’ convenience. The Samsung Electronics website offers pre-registration for the annual general meeting. For each item on the agenda, shareholders may submit questions; the application period coincides with the time allotted for electronic voting.
