Sometime ago a feature named Photo Square was found within the Google Camera app. However, the feature was taken down after the release of the Pixel 8 series. According to some recent pieces of information, it appears like that the feature is coming back.
The new information comes from a Reddit user who spotted it in the latest version of the Google Camera app (version 9.2.113.604778888.19). According to details, the Photo Square mode can be found with the latest update. It is however, only available to a few Pixel users. It will be particularly available to those Pixel users whose gadgets were among the first to support the camera function.
It is kind of confirmed that the feature is back. It can be found on Pixel 7 Pro and Pixel 6 Pro. Since the feature was eliminated with the release of the Pixel 8 series, it was never available on Google’s most recent smartphones. Unfortunately, this implies that Pixel 8 smartphones will not feature Photo Sphere.
It appears like there are no significant changes to this feature during the pause period. It works the same way as previously. To prevent badly stitched photographs, users must move their camera around carefully.
Additionally, it includes the five different shot types: horizontal, 360, fisheye, wide angle, and vertical.
It’s amazing to know that this 360-degree image creation tool has been available since 2012. It’s good to see the feature restored, even though it’s probably not used as much as it previously was.
