Oppo affirms that it is staying in the foldable phone business

Just recently, we learned that several Chinese smartphone companies will abandon the foldable smartphone market. It was reported that Oppo will be one of those companies possibly because of high repairing costs. As of now, an official statement from the company indicates that it won’t stop launching new foldable smartphones.

This information comes from the publication GSMArena. An Oppo representative reportedly stated, “Oppo’s commitment to the ongoing development of foldable smartphone technology stays the same.” Stay tuned for our formal announcements and updates. In 2023, OnePlus debuted its first foldable smartphone: the OnePlus Open in the US and the European market. The same gadget was rebranded as the Oppo Find N3 for use in other markets, including China. Additionally, Oppo announced the Find N3 Flip, a phone that folds vertically, in 2023.

With the new official announcement, we can expect new foldable like the Oppo Find N4, N4 Flip, and the OnePlus Open 2 to launch this year. Just recently, Oppo announced that Find X7 and Find X7 Ultra in China. Some reports suggest that the company might announce a two-way satellite connectivity variant of the X7 Ultra next month in China. The company has officially announced that the Oppo F25 Pro 5G will go on sale in India on February 29. Following the launch of the Reno 11 series in January, this phone will be the second of the year.
