Oppo Builds Its 5G Innovation Lab In India

Oppo has announced today to build its first 5G Innovation Lab in India. The location of the lab is at Hyderabad R&D Center in this center Oppo will focus on the research and development of core product technologies under the 5G ecosystem. According to Oppo, the establishment of the 5G Innovation Lab in India is OPPO’s key move to further promote global 5G commercialization. The company also believes that this move will further enhance its technological influence in the 5G field in India

In addition to the 5G innovation laboratory, OPPO also plans to add three innovation laboratories in India. These labs will conduct R&D and innovation in-camera, power consumption, and performance optimization. The Chinese manufacturer seeks to bring advanced technologies to users.

In order to accelerate the large-scale commercialization of 5G, OPPO has always maintained close cooperation with industry chain partners such as Ericsson and Qualcomm. In December of this year, OPPO successfully implemented a voice demonstration based on the commercial 5G SA network in Switzerland. Furthermore, OPPO is also the first smartphone brand to conduct 5G WhatsApp video calls in India. So far, OPPO has cooperated with more than 50 global leaders and operators to provide 5G services to a wide range of users.

Oppo is a world leader in fast-charging technologies. As of April 2020, the company has more than 2,700 global patents in the field of fast charging. It is already leading in the fast charging field with its 65W SuperVOOC fast charge. Also, it has VOOC, SuperVOOC, and AirVOOC – three major flash charging technology. At the ChinaJoy exhibition back in July, we saw the Oppo 125W charger.

According to reports from @DigitalChatStation, Oppo’s 125W charging solution fills a 4500 mAh battery in 20 minutes. However, its upcoming flagship will most likely use its 65W solution. This is because the 125W solution is not quite ready. The heat control is not ideal (it may also be due to the design). The company claims that this charging solution can deliver up to 41% in just 5 minutes, this is for a 4000 mAh battery. However, it will deliver a full charge within 20 minutes. Also, its temperature remains below 40°C when the screen is off and on standby. OPPO 125W Super Flash Charger supports VOOC, SuperVOOC, compatible with PPS, PD, and QC protocols. It also supports 12.5A current input, multi-pole technology, dual 6C batteries.
