Oppo Reno8 Lite: cheap mid range ready for Europe launch

The Chinese manufacturer Oppo is pushing the European market with more and more smartphones. The model range is jumping so fast that the Oppo Reno8 Lite 5G is a device from a new series that just started somewhere else as the Reno7. As is so often the case, the Oppo Reno8 Lite 5G should serve the mid-range and offer a cheap alternative to the smartphones of Xiaomi, Samsung, and Motorola. Visually, the device corresponds to the Reno7 Lite 5G, which only recently came on the market in China. Technically it also seems to be identical.

The display of the Oppo Reno8 Lite uses a 6.43-inch AMOLED panel that offers an extended Full HD resolution with 2400×1080 pixels and has a round cutout in the top left corner for the front camera. The device is based on the Snapdragon 695 5G (SM6375), which has a maximum clock speed of 2.2 gigahertz with its eight cores and an integrated 5G modem. Eight gigabytes of RAM and 128 GB of internal flash memory with the ability to use a microSD card slot are always installed.

Additional features include a 64-megapixel main camera with phase-detection autofocus and two additional 2-megapixel cameras for macro and depth effects. The front camera has a resolution of 16 megapixels. The transfer takes place via ac-WLAN. Bluetooth 5.1 and NFC. Oppo wants to equip the Reno8 Lite 5G with a 4500mAh battery that can be quickly charged with up to 33 watts.

There is also support for two SIM cards and Android 11 is used as the operating system here in combination with the custom ColorOS interface. This is a bit disappointing as Android 13 is imminent and most other devices are currently offering a more recent OS with Android 12.
