Optional updates for Windows 11 started, that’s all new

Microsoft has released a new optional update for Windows 11 22h2 and 23h2. There are also a number of interesting innovations, including for the taskbar, the settings app and for widgets.

New functions for Windows 11

Microsoft has that Optional update KB5058502 Published for Windows 11, version 22h2 and 23h2. After installation, the build number increases to 22621,5413 or 22631,5413. The update does not contain any safety -related changes, but offers various improvements and new functions for daily use. If you want, you can already get the update and benefit from the changes. The automatic delivery of the changes will begin at the Juni-Patch Day (June).

Blue screens and more

The update resolved several critical problems that affected the stability and performance of Windows devices. First of all, a blues screen error that users with the error code system_service_exception (caused by Win32kfull.sys) were successfully eliminated. Furthermore, the update addresses an error in the input service, which led to an increased memory utilization, which was able to impair the performance in the use of multilingual, multilingual and remote desktops.

The mobile phone provider profiles were also updated as part of the Country and Operator Settings Asset (COSA) in order to improve compatibility and functionality. Release notes (step-by-case rollout)

With a gradual rollout, a release update is distributed over a certain period of time and not all at the same time. This means that users receive the updates at different times and that functions may not be available immediately for all users. The following changes are in the changelog for the gradual rollout:

  • Settings:
  • New! Answers to frequently asked questions about your PC and Windows 11 can be found in the new section frequently asked questions under Settings> Page System> Info. It deals with topics such as system facility, performance and compatibility – all in one place.
  • Task bar:
  • New! Administrators can configure task states guidelines so that users can solve certain apps to ensure that they are not re -attached in the next guideline update.
  • Widgets:
  • New! There are some new updates for the new widgets in the lock for devices in EEA. In addition to the improvements of accessibility and craftsmanship, the weather widget of the lock screen now supports the adjustment. To configure your weather widget, switch to Settings> Personalization> lock screen, and select the “Adjust” widget option in the “Adjust” Weather Widget menu. Further widgets can be adjusted in the future.
  • Windows Share:
