Own a Google Pixel Smartphone? The Android 12 Update Might be Available for You

In the recent Google I/O 2021, Google introduced the new Android 12 update. The update is now rolling out to smartphones, including the Google Pixel 3, Pixel 3 XL, Pixel 3a, Pixel 3a XL, Pixel 4, Pixel 4 XL, Pixel 4a, Pixel 4a (5G) or Pixel 5.

Though the update is still in the Beta mode, which is quite unstable, users have already started to update their devices.

In the initial phase, Google started rolling out the update to a line of its in-house developed smartphones, including the Google Pixel 3, Pixel 3 XL, Pixel 3a, Pixel 3a XL, Pixel 4, Pixel 4 XL, Pixel 4a, Pixel 4a (5G) or Pixel 5.

Other smartphone manufacturers, like OnePlus, Xiaomi, and others to follow.

According to the source, if you aren’t a developer, you might want to hold on to the current version of Android. But if you’re certain that you want to go with the update, you could either check for the update via your device’s setting’s app or download via this link.

According to PhoneArena, Google has provided different downloads for each eligible Pixel phone. You’ll then need to enable USB Debugging on your Pixel smartphone via the Developer options menu, connect the phone to your computer via USB, and on your computer navigate to Google’s Android Flash Tool page. The Android Flash Tool will guide you through the rest.
