Painkiller Reborn: 3D Realms and Saber Interactive Revive the Classic Shooter with Co-Op and Modern Upgrades

3D Realms and Saber Interactive have announced a reinterpretation of the Pinkiller shooter. The new game wants to maintain the spirit of the original and transport it to modern platforms – including co -op mode. The first impressions can be seen in the trailer.
Brutal action in the purgatory
Players can be found in Pinkiller for their offenses on earth in purgatory, but get the unique chance of redemption: they have to counter the fallen angel Azazel, the Nephilim and many other demons, as they want to take over the earth.

To this end, the repentite sinners are allowed to fall back on a wide arsenal of classic and new weapons and the already known tarot card system also returns. With the cards, your own skills can be improved. In co-op mode, up to three players can team up and choose between the four heroes Ink, Void, Sol and Roch, all of whom have individual skills. Unlike the original, Painkiller is no longer developed by the Polish studio People Can Fly, but the Anshar Studios (Gamedec, Detached). The game is scheduled to appear in autumn 2025 for the PC (Steam), the PlayStation 5 and Xbox Series X/S.
