The chip replaces the predecessor Samsung GN1, which was used in the Pixel 7 series.
Samsung also supplies the sensor for the telephoto zoom camera in the Google Pixel 8 Pro, which will be the Samsung GM5. This offers 48 megapixels and a five-fold optical magnification since Google has again installed periscope-like optics here.
