‘Pixel camera’ is new name for ‘Google Camera’

You can probably guess the new name of the Google Camera app. It makes perfect sense that Google changed the name of the app to “Pixel Camera.” The only handsets that come pre-installed with this software are the company’s Pixel models.

Google Camera app has a new name

Even though the Pixel Camera app is available on the Google Play Store, you truly can’t get it on anything other than a Pixel. Therefore, it really is not shocking that Google has made this adjustment.

Google has slightly modified the description along with the name change, but not significantly. The business slightly revised it and added a few new things to the list. “Never miss a moment with the fully redesigned Pixel Camera and take fantastic photos and videos using features like Portrait, Night Sight, Time Lapse, and Cinematic Blur,” it reads in the new version.

Only Pixel devices running Android 14 are compatible with the most recent version of this app. To get the most recent build, you must have Wear OS 3 as far as its Wear OS version is concerned.

Play Store listing has undergone some changes

Google also draws attention to this app’s updated UI on the Play Store. For those of you who have used it, it will still be familiar. However, the primary UI does feature a few extra options. The Pixel 8 and Pixel 8 Pro are the most recent devices to include the Google Camera, which is now referred to as the Pixel Camera app. Those are the most recent flagship devices from the company.

The business additionally showcased a variety of photography features in addition to those two phones. The Pixel Camera app includes those. Please be aware that the Pixel 8 series is the only device with those additional features. Actually, a few of them are unique to the Pixel 8 Pro, and more are coming.

Naturally, depending on the phone you have the Pixel Camera app installed on, different functionalities will be available. as it has been up until now.
