Pixel phones running Android 14 QPR3 Beta 2 are soft-bricking
According to some recent pieces of information, there is some kind of problem with the latest Android 14 QPR3 Beta 2 release. Reportedly, the latest update is soft-bricking some Pixel devices. This information comes from some reddit users and 9To5Google.
In accordance with the details shared by 9To5Google, the devices get stuck. Although sideloading for QPR3 Beta 2 usually works, when the operation is finished, trying to restart the Pixels leaves the device stuck on the Google logo. Thankfully, it is a soft brick. That implies that when the issue arises, the impacted Pixels are not completely worthless. Should sideloading QPR3 Beta 2 prove difficult, users can restore their Pixels to a working state by sideloading the previous Android 14 QPR3 Beta 1 upgrade.
In addition to this, some users were able to successfully install the Android 14 QPR3 Beta 2 OTA update. Furthermore, a Reddit user mentioned that they had no issues sideloading the March update to their Pixel Fold. There are no details regarding the particular issue. We don’t whether there is a problem with the update or not. But perhaps Google will fix it soon. In the meantime, users must download the latest QPR update via an OTA in an effort to avoid the above-mentioned problem.
