PlayerUnknown’s Battlegrounds: received fatwa from scholars in Iraqi Kurdistan

One of the most popular games of 2018 “PlayerUnknown’s Battlegrounds” has received strong criticism from the Islamic scholars in Iraqi Kurdistan imposing a fatwa on the game and declaring it un-Islamic.

A group of Islamic scholars in Iraqi Kurdistan has issued fatwa against the most popular video game however, some of the liberal scholars still defy the ruling and argue that “Imams are imposing too many fatwas on the youth, first they said, having goatee is haram, then they say having a hairstyle is haram and now the video game is haram, leave the young people alone.” Said Mala Saman Sangavi, bbc reported.

Because of husband’s game and mobile addiction, one Iraqi Kurdish women asked the court for divorce and said it is the only option, what type of marriage is this when Husband is distracted and do not pay attention to you.”

The imams who issued fatwa said wasting time is unIslamic,

Irfan Rasheed from Kurdistan Union of Scholars said, “The game not only wastes one’s time but also affect vision when played on mobile phones, it also affects the body and make people sluggish, the Prophet SAW has advised us to protect the body which has rights on us.

While interviewing youth BBC reported that young people are fond of this game, they really enjoy their time playing the game.
