Prototype popped up for purchase on Craigslist

A prototype of the Samsung Galaxy S26+ has surprisingly appeared on an online platform – for $1,650. The leak confirms the camera’s new pill design and provides concrete information about the innovative privacy display for more privacy.

Galaxy S26+ prototype for sale in USA

Samsung is about to host the Unpacked event on February 25, 2026. Ten days before that, a suspected prototype of the Galaxy S26+ was for sale in the USA on the Craigslist platform for $1,650 (approx. 1,391 euros). The price is well above the expected retail price of 1000 to 1070 dollars (approx. 843 to 902 euros). The device differs from the design of its predecessors.

Instead of separate lens rings, it combines the cameras in a vertical “camera pill” unit. Also new is the “Privacy Display” function, which darkens the screen when viewed from the side – through hardware coating and AI control.

Origin of the prototype

Android Headlines discovered the ad. It shows a working device with the official S26 series wallpaper. Experts assume that this is an internal test device that came from Samsung’s laboratories. The seller mislabeled it as the “Galaxy S26 Ultra.” But it is more likely that it is a Plus model; the camera layout seems to confirm this. Such prototype leaks are now quite typical for the industry.

The case of the Google Pixel 3 XL, which was traded on the black market before its release, is well known. They repeatedly show major weaknesses in secrecy. The S26 series represents an important further development for Samsung. The top model retains the 5000 mAh battery and does without the Qi2 standard for magnetic charging (we reported exclusively).
