Qualcomm Reveals Snapdragon 845 Mobile Chipset

Qualcomm has announced its next-generation flagship processor. The chipmaker reveals its new Snapdragon 845 mobile chipset at Snapdragon Tech Summit.

 

Snapdragon 845 is the successor to Snapdragon 835, the chipset that launched at CES 2017. Snapdragon 835 powered the leading smartphones of 2017 including Samsung Galaxy S8, S8 plus, Xiaomi Mi Mix 2, LG V30, Google Pixel 2, Pixel 2 XL and HTC U11

Now it is revealed that Xiaomi’s next device will run on Snapdragon 845 chipset. Also, the chip will power many upcoming smartphones in 2018. Qualcomm claims that Snapdragon 845 is faster, reliable, safer and better. This new chipset focuses more on AI thus providing better security to smartphones and enabling a powerful and amazing user experience.

President and general manager of the Samsung Electronics’ foundry business ES Jung has made the announcement at the same event that Samsung upcoming phones will use Snapdragon 845 chipsets. Other than this no more detail was given.

As per reports, rumors and leaked information it is clear that Snapdragon 845 is a chipset focused on AI and machine learning. The chip will be a 10nm FinFET, much like its predecessors. Also, the chip might have a 4+4 octa-core configuration.
Qualcomm also reconfirmed its collaboration with Microsoft. Both the tech giants are working on Always Connected PCs that come with Windows 10 on Snapdragon.
