When it comes to the security and privacy of calls and media files on a smartphone, every user wants the best solution to keep their privacy intact. Some advanced security elements were added to the Huawei Mate 60 Pro recently. The Huawei Mate 60 Pro is the company’s latest flagship and is powered by a Kirin 9000s chipset. This chipset was made in collaboration with SMIC.
During the 2023 Digital Technology EcolConference, thence, Huawei Mate 60 Pro with quantum security was showcased by carrier China Telecom. This advances the efforts from the previous year when it debuted the Mate 40E that supported Quantum SIM.
It basically relies on the Quantum Key Distribution algorithm to secure voice calls (VoLTE), file transfers, and messages. Each time a user makes a call, a new key is generated by the algorithm. The key is then shared with the recipient, where it decodes the call, message, or file. In this way, it secures both users. To confirm their identities, users must first use secure authentication.
In addition to the Quantum SIM card, there is a custom chipset and an algorithm to ensure security. A similar piece of hardware is required for the call, message, or file to be received at the recipient’s end. China Telecom revealed that its quantum-secured online chat service had more than one million users, indicating a substantial user base already in place. On the whole, quantum security adds more security and privacy features to the Mate 60 Pro and Mate 40E. At the moment, there is no clue about the cost and availability of the custom Huawei Mate 60 Pro.
