Rajeev Circle Fellowship: 6 young Pakistani entrepreneurs all set to land Silicon Valley

The 2-3 week Rajeev Circle Fellowship is ready to equip six entrepreneurs from Pakistan. The RC Fellowship would take the young Pakistanis to the tech hub in the USA; Silicon Valley, California.

This fellowship is run by friends and family of late Professor Rajeev Motwani. The fellowship aims to make ways for the young tech entrepreneurs. Of the big names, Stanford University, UC Berkeley, MIT, and Google are of the few members of Rajeev Circle Fellowship.

This year, six Pakistanis got lucky when they’re called to join the RC fellowship:

1. Eisha Zeb – Assistant Programme Manager and Head of Strategic Global Partnerships, PlanX
2. Qasim Salam – Founder, Campus Feed
3. Ali Murtaza – Makeistan
4. Usama Abid – Founder and CEO, DIY GEEKS
5. Hina Tariq – COO, DIY GEEKS
6. Hamza Munir – Chief Design Officer, DIY GEEKS

The RC Fellowship will start in May and these young tech geeks of Pakistan are hopeful to get the max out of the 3-week entrepreneurial program.

Dr. Umar Saif, one of the leading fathers of promoting information technology and entrepreneurship in Pakistan said on this occasion:

DR. Umar Saif is the Chairman pf Punjab Information Technology Board (PITB) which has recently evoked young Pakistanis to make their ways in the technology. He has a vision which is strongly impacting the young tech geeks and entrepreneurs to change their lives and make the country proud of them.

On the selection occasion, Director PlanX, Hafsa Shorish said:

The link between the Silicon Valley and our developing ecosystem is absolutely necessary for our growth and scalability. Hence, this fellowship can definitely help us establish stronger ties with the start up community within and outside Pakistan

Go back a decade and you won’t find such happenings in the country. But in the recent past, big steps are being taken by PITB and other provincial IT boards of Pakistan. With a pace like this, it could be hoped that soon Pakistan could also start its own fellowship programs equipping young minds within and outside the country to help make a better world.
