RayNeo Air 3S XR Glasses: The Standout Product at MWC 2025

Mobile World Congress is typically all about cutting-edge smartphones and tablets, but this year, the RayNeo Air 3S XR glasses stole the show. As the direct successor to the Air 2S, launched last August, the Air 3S brings notable enhancements while coming in at a surprisingly lower price of just $259.
A Stylish Design with Powerful Tech
At first glance, the Air 3S looks like a pair of modern sunglasses. But a closer look reveals its innovative design: the tinted lenses sit slightly off the face to house Sony micro-OLED panels. These panels, combined with “birdbath” optics (a beam splitter and concave mirror), project stunning visuals to the wearer.
RayNeo has significantly improved brightness and contrast with its new HueView tandem micro-OLED panels. The result? A virtual 201-inch display (as if viewed from six meters away), boasting a 200,000:1 contrast ratio and 650-nit brightness—both upgrades from the Air 2S.
The viewing experience also sees fewer distractions, thanks to an increased eye box, a wider 47-degree field of view (FoV), and the option for 60Hz or 120Hz refresh rates at Full HD resolution.
Immersive Gaming and Everyday Use
The Air 3S proved its versatility during my hands-on test. I connected it to a Nintendo Switch running Tears of the Kingdom via RayNeo’s JoyDock, which enhances docked performance while staying portable with dual 5000mAh batteries. The glasses also performed flawlessly when paired with a PlayStation 5.
Latency was a non-issue, and the visuals were rich in detail, especially with nuanced elements like contrast and dynamic range. The expanded color space (154% sRGB and 98% DCI-P3 accuracy) further elevated the experience compared to the Air 2S.
Even in the convention center’s bright lights, the transparent displays delivered impressive contrast while allowing peripheral awareness—a key advantage over fully enclosed VR headsets like the Meta Quest 3.
Improved Comfort and Audio
The Air 3S isn’t just about visuals. Its quad-speaker setup delivers a 200% improvement in audio fidelity with better bass, high-frequency clarity, and reduced sound leakage. RayNeo’s Whisper Mode 2.0 ensures audio remains private, inaudible to anyone more than 0.6 meters away.
Weighing just 76 grams (two grams lighter than the 2S), the Air 3S is comfortable for extended use. While they feel perfect for situations like flights, I’m still unsure how practical they’d be for walking around in public—but that’s something I’ll experiment with during a full review.
An Unbeatable Price
Despite delivering better displays, sound, and comfort, the Air 3S is priced at just $259, making it even cheaper than the Air 2S, which currently sits at $319 after a major price drop.
With its combination of affordability, cutting-edge tech, and improved usability, the RayNeo Air 3S XR glasses are not only one of the most compelling products at MWC 2025 but also a game-changer in their category.
