Read this if you are planning to purchase Galaxy S9

Are you planning to purchase the Samsung Galaxy S9? You will probably be ecstatic to find that Samsung has a 128 GB version of the flagship smartphone ready to go on sale.

The new storage configuration is set to hit the Indian market, reports SamMobile. The model is currently available in offline channels in India. It has not yet hit the online retail stores.

Launched with 64 GB or 256 GB variants, the Galaxy S9 has 4 GB of RAM while the S9+ shipped with 6 GB of Ram.

As far as the pricing is concerned, 128 GB model will retail for INR 61,900 and INR 68,900 for the Galaxy S9 and S9+ respectively. In comparison, the 64 GB S9 and S9+ currently retail for INR 57,900 and INR 64,990 respectively. In Pakistan, you can expect the price for it to be around PKR 103,000. The lowest price that can be seen on online retail market in Pakistan is PKR 84,999.

Unlike other flagship smartphones, the Galaxy S9 is not completely sealed – Samsung has retained the microSD card slot on its leading handset so the storage option can be changed. Asian markets usually rely on external MicroSD cards for their data. The 128 GB base unit may help in the spec war but 64 GB of storage is more than enough for basic smartphone use.

The market however is very competitive especially the Asian region. It is because many cell phone giants are trying to penetrate consumer areas along with local brands. Smart phone use is still on the low as compared to the access basic phones have. 128 GB might just do the trick to swing the summer sale season. This will maximize Samsung’s profits as Apple has not hit the market with its new gadget. We’re soon to see what Apple conjures up to counter the South Korean tech giant.
