Roads Blocked in Karachi & Karachiites React

A religious party, Jamaat-e-Islami has blocked Shahrah-e-Faisal in Karachi for over an hour and people are not happy at all.

In protest against inadequate water supply and power crisis in Karachi, the party workers took to streets to protest. They blocked the Malir 15 road and were joined by Karachi Transporters Ittehad

Party’s Karachi chief, Hafiz Naeemur Rehman said, “We haven’t blocked any road. We are not causing trouble to the passers-by. Our protest is peaceful.”

Jamaat-e-Islami Amir, Sirajul Haq has asked Karachi people to join the strike. He claims, “The strike has been called to pull Karachi out of darkness.”

But the people who are suffering due to this strike feel that yes issues like load-shedding and water crisis must be solved, but this is not the way.

They said, “We support the protest, not the strike.”

In many areas of Karachi, load-shedding occurred for hours. The reason was a conflict between the gas & electricity suppliers in the city. So due to it, not just light was gone but also water supply was cut. Various political parties have come forward and protested against it, but the way JI is protesting, it is just aggravating the situation for Karachiites.
