Samsung begins rolling out the December 2022 Security patch with Galaxy S20

Owing to the rolling out of Android 13 updates for various Samsung devices, the security patch for December 2022 was postponed. Usually, Samsung follows the pattern to release the security patch a few days before any given month. However, the December 2022 Security patch faced a delay in its release. But today Samsung has introduced the December 2022 Security patch with a lot of bug fixes.

The updates are going to start from the Galaxy S20 series in Europe.

The latest software update for Galaxy S20, Galaxy S20+, and Galaxy S20 Ultra hold the firmware version G98xBXXSFGVK7. The update is presently available for the following regions:

The December 2022 security patch addresses the 67 security vulnerabilities presented to Android smartphones. It consists of 26 fixes for vulnerabilities found in Galaxy smartphones and tablets. Among these vulnerabilities, five have been marked as critical, while 63 of them have been termed as ‘high’ priority. Where twelve of them were referred to as moderate as per the monthly security bulletin of Samsung.

If you are a Galaxy S20 user residing in any one of the regions mentioned above, you can download the new software update on your own. Navigate to Settings of your device, and tap on Software Update. Click on Download and Install. Furthermore, you can also download the recent software update from the firmware database and flash it manually.
