Samsung chairman will visit Vietnam to celebrate the completion of its largest R&D center

Samsung initiated the production of a new research and development center in Hanoi, Vietnam, in March 2020. It is anticipated to cost Samsung around $220 million. As per reports, the construction of this R&D is complete. It is going to be celebrated this week as the Executive Chairman of Samsung Electronics, Lee Jae-Yong, will visit Vietnam.

In accordance with The Korea Herald, Lee Jae-Yong will arrive at Vietnam’s capital on Thursday. He will be there to celebrate the completion of the R&D center. Followed by that he will be having a meeting with the President of Vietnam, Nguyễn Xuân Phúc, as well as key officials of the Vietnamese government. It looks like Lee Jae-Yong has canceled the weekly trial proceedings of the Samsung C&T and Cheil Industries merger in order to attend this celebration ceremony.

The new R&D center of Samsung in Hanoi, Vietnam, is constructed on 11,603 square meters of land. It has nineteen floors along with three basement floors. It has a total floor area of 79,522 square meters. At this time, it is the largest R&D facility of Samsung in Southeast Asia. The company is anticipated to emphasize R&D of hardware, software, smartphones, and tablets at this center. This center will hire around 3,000 people.

Across the world, Samsung has seventeen R&D centers. These include the centers in Malaysia, Poland, Russia, South Korea, Canada, China, India, Indonesia, Turkey, the Philippines, the UK, and the US.
